Hon. Idah Mehangye

Hon. Idah Mehangye is a trained teacher, HIV/AIDS counselor and trainer. Hon. Idah Mehangye is also trained in Human Resources Management and in Planning & Management from Sangam in India . Hon. Mehangye is a Christian teacher and a politician who has been a Member of Parliament in the Ugandan National Assembly. Her special calling is for a better welfare of women and children, who are orphaned, suffer abuse, poverty, stigma if infected or affected by HIV/AID's, illiteracy and general marginalization. Hon Idah Mehangye is President & Founder member of Parents Concern for Young People
Hon. Mehangye is a leader at different levels. She was a Head teacher at Mbarara Secondary School , Chief Commissioner for the Uganda Girl Guides Association (Girl scouts). She is President of Uganda Girls Brigade in Uganda, Chairperson of the Board of Directors - Agape Global Missions, Chairperson of Touch the World Ministries Uganda, Vice chairperson and Treasurer for The Uganda Parliamentary Forum for children and Executive member for the Uganda Women Parliamentary Association. Hon Mehangye is currently the coordinator of Uganda- Korea Friendship Association.
Hon Idah Mehangye has traveled widely carrying on the Christian messages and women and children concerns to the United Kingdom, Germany, The Netherlands, Thailand, India, Singapore, South Korea, Kenya, Ethiopia, USA and many parts of Africa.

Retd. Bishop Amos Betungura Chairperson

The retired Bishop Amos Betungura is a writer, a Teacher, a marriage councilor, and a Theologist. He had his Education at Mbarara High School in Mbarara UGANDA , Theology training in UK and University education in theology and church leadership in UK . He became a teacher, a headmaster and the Principal of Bishop Tucker Theological College Mukono for many years. He was the longest serving Bishop of East Ankole diocese. He has written many books about the local history of Ankole, marriage, children stories and translated others. Bishop Betungura hosts regular Radio talk shows on local FM radios about the Runyankole language, marriage issues, cultural issues and on Christian life. Bishop Betungura was instrumental in the forming and designing of the Parent -Child Communication curriculum which Parents concern uses in training on Adolescent sexual and reproductive health. His interest in the welfare of the youth made him the Founder of Boys and Girls Brigade in Uganda.
Retd. Bishop Eustace Kamanyire Amooti

Dr Bishop Kamanyire

Dr Bishop Kamanyire went to school in Tooro Kingdom , trained as a teacher at Canon Apollo Teachers College , graduated at Mukono Theological College . He had his Masters in Theology in the UK . He taught in many schools before becoming the Principal of Mukono Theological College. He went into exile in Kenya when Iddi Amini was president of Uganda promoting the Islam religion and persecuting Christianity. While in Kenya Bishop Kamanyire taught at Maseeno Theological College and trained in many management short courses. He became the Bishop of Rwenzori Diocese for many years. While serving Bishop he founded the Rwenzori Community Services which houses orphaned children with support from the Rottary clubs in USA He carries on training workshops for parents and teachers promoting abstinence.

Hon. Dorothy Nyakato Abooki

Hon Nyakato is a teacher, a writer and now a Minister of Culture and the Elderly in the Tooro Kingdom. Hon Nyakato got her education at Kyebambe Girls school, Oxford University in the UK and other post graduate training in Uganda . She became a writer and participated in translating and publishing the English readers in Runyoro/Rutooro. She worked with the English Oxford Publishers for a long time as she executed this duty.Her love for young people led her to train as a Girl Guide leader and she is still a Regional Commissioner for the Girl Guide Association of Uganda. she was appointed a Minister of Culture and the Elderly by His Higness the King of Tooro in 2001..
